  7. There are a lot of Nagger/Reminder programs out there, but I couldn't find
  8. one that did what I wanted it to.  Reminder is the result.

  11. There are two programs in the archive:
  12. Reminder - The main file, put it in WBStartUp
  13. ReminderGUI - The file editor, put it wherever
  14.

  27. ReminderGUI

  30. The ReminderGUI program allows you to enter notes, edit and delete them.
  31. It saves the data file for the main program in your S: directory as
  32. Reminder.DAT.

  36. sound options:
  37. None   - No sound (obviously)
  38. Bell   - A bell will ring for each reminder listed
  39. Speech - The computer will display the reminder and read it to you.  For
  40.          this option you will need narrator.device and translator.library.
  41.          If you don't have them, they were included with the 1.3 workbench.

  43. screen options:
  44. Workbench - The reminders will display on your workbench screen
  45. Custom    - Reminder will open its own intuition screen
  46.  
  47. name option:
  48. Here you can set the name the computer will use when addressing you
  49.  
  50. Add

  52. This is the button to use to add a new entry to the list of reminders.  At
  53. present, you can have 49 reminders stored.  Send me $5 and I will send you
  54. a version of the program that will handle up to 200.

  58. If you screw up an entry, you can use this option to fix it.

  60. Delete
  61. ------
  62. If you don't need the reminder anymore, you can delete it here.

  64. Save
  65. ----
  66. Stores your reminder list for the main program to use.

  72. Types of Reminders
  73.  
  74. Countdown
  75. Until the target date is reached, this type of reminder will count the days
  76. (unless it's more than a month away) until the event happens.  When it
  77. reaches the target date, it will give you the option of deleting the
  78. reminder.
  79.  
  80. Event
  81. This type only shows up when the target date is reached.  Use this one for
  82. birthdays, holidays, one time events.  When it is displayed, it will give
  83. you the option of deleting the reminder.
  84.  
  85. Weekly
  86. Every time the target day is reached (Monday, for example), the reminder
  87. will be displayed.  As usual, you will be given the option of deleting the
  88. reminder from the list when it is displayed.

  90. Monthly
  91. Each time the target day of the month is reached, this reminder will
  92. display.  Again, you can delete it when it displays.

  95. Reminder

  97. Drag, drop, shove or otherwise get the Reminder program into your WBStartUp
  98. drawer (or add run >NIL: Reminder to your startup-sequence (or something
  99. like that)).

  101. Every time your computer boots, you will be asked whether or not you wish
  102. to view the reminders.  If you say no, the program ends and that's the name
  103. of that tune.  If you say yes, the program will tell you the date and then
  104. begin listing all valid reminders.

  106. Any time a reminder reaches its target date, it will give you the option of
  107. deleting that reminder from the list.
  108.  
  109. After it displays all the reminders, it will clean up the list (in case any
  110. have been deleted) and resave it.
